HALEU Deconversion - Supplier Engagement Day

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory are hosting a supplier engagement day to advertise upcoming procurement opportunities relating to the HALEU (High Assay Low Enriched Uranium) Deconversion Fuels programme. The event will take place on 6th March 2025 at the Tickled Trout Hotel in Preston.

The event will focus on providing the supply chain with an understanding on HALEU fuel technology and capability requirements needed to ensure the UK has a domestic supply of enriched HALEU fuel for the next generation of nuclear reactors.

UKNNL are tasked with designing, building, and delivering an operable pilot scale demonstration rig that will assist the commercial nuclear fuels market in developing HALEU fuel on a commercial scale.

For UKNNL to achieve this deliverable we are seeking the assistance of the UK supply chain to provide through a tendering process the following services & system technologies.

Mechanical, Process and Electrical consultancy design, System control and integration, Rotary kiln, Chemical & gas Off gas scrubber abatement systems, lifting and handling equipment, weighing systems, trace heated pipe systems & control, high temperature reaction vessels, high temperature steam generator, Uranium Hexafluoride feed system, Welding & Fabrication, Mechanical and Electrical assembly.

Event Timings:

Please arrive from 9.30am onwards for a 10am start. There will be food and drinks on arrival.

10am -10.45am there will be introductions and presentation from UKNNL.

10.45am onwards, open room where you will have the opportunity to speak to UKNNL staff.

Lunch will be provided at 12.30pm.
