description
Part of Rink Drive is owned by South Derbyshire District Council. The surface course has worn through in numerous places, leaving sections of the road badly potholed. Surface crazing in other areas suggest locations where the Binder Course has also failed.
There is a 'feature' paved crossing point located part way along Rink Drive which has become uneven and unstable in parts. A number of the paviours have been chipped or otherwise damaged.
Speed humps have been installed at intervals along the length of Rink Drive with the view to restricting the speed of vehicles using the road. These are to be reformed as part of the surfacing works.
Whilst the road gullies appear to be in good order, a number of the manhole covers are showing signs of failing and will need to be replaced.
The appointed contractor must allow for overnight working in the tender sum, and will be required to supply, install and maintain throughout the works, sufficient traffic management to ensure the safety of operatives, road users and the public in general.
