description
Scope of Preparatory and Ancillary Works
The provision and construction of all preparatory and ancillary works, and the alteration of exising works or features, including:
- comprehensive traffic management to Chapter 8 of The Traffic Signs Regulations and general Directions 200 and agree all with Oxfordshire County council;
- site clearance;
- earthworks and removal of unacceptable material from Site;
- surface water drainage system, including manholes, pipes and gullies;
- Civil Engineering and trenching work for all existing and new utilities;
- supervision and co-ordination of all existing and new utilities;
- individual utility providers shall supply and lay their utility in trenches which are to be excavated and backfilled by the Principal Contractor;
- upgrading of the existing roundabout, carriageway widening to form new carriageway in bituminous material, to accommodate the new Graven Hill Village Development;
- construction of associated bituminous footway and refuge crossings with associated tactile paving slabs;
- installation of traffic signals including MOVA to Oxfordshire county councils specification;
- CCVT installation to Oxfordshire county councils specification;
- kerbs, islands, verges and reservations including the grading and seeding of grassed areas;
- traffic signs, road markings, bollards and pedestrian guard rails;
- Contractor design of an approx., 1.5m retained height retaining wall to support the realigned carriageway with a vehicular restraint system;
- Possible Contractor design of road lighting, but it is understood, assumed that the new street lighting will be designed by Oxfordshire County council;
- minimal landscaping, grass verges;
- alterations and tie in to a private road access;
- make due allowance for the installation of services to serve the new development;
- Civil provision for utility infrastructure services to accommodate the proposed Graven Hill Developments, Gas, water, telecom and electrical services by others;
- works to be varied out under a section 278 Agreement and the contractor would need to comply and work in accordance with the obligations set out within this;
- must be registered on Construtionline;
- comply with the Considerate Constructors Scheme code of practice and be a registered member.
