- 2The Office for Nuclear Regulation’s (ONR) Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process is part of a two-phase process. Phase 1 involves assessment of the Requesting Party’s (RP) safety submission on a generic basis, in advance of any site-specific proposals. Phase 1 consists of 4 steps:
- a)Step 1; preparation of the design, safety case and security submissions;
- b)Step 2; fundamental design, safety case and security and security claims assessment;
- c)Step 3; overall design, safety case and security argument assessment; and
- d)Step 4; detailed design, safety case and security evidence assessment.
