E3i: EnvEast Enterprise and Innovation Programme
EnvEast is a Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). It is led by the University of East Anglia, but also includes two other Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) – the Universities of Kent and Essex, 11 non-HEI Core Partners (including the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) and Met Office), and 9 non-HEI Contributing Partners (including the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), Sainsbury Laboratory and Gardline Marine Sciences). The DTP exists to provide high quality doctoral level training for students in the Environmental Sciences and supports 60 fully funded PhD studentships over five cohorts starting between 2014 and 2018.
| 2 | Introduction and Background to the Project / Programme |
| 2.1 | NERC has awarded EnvEast an additional grant to carry out a programme of ‘added value activities in innovation’ commencing immediately and due to be completed by 31 March 2017. The programme is entitled the ‘E3i EnvEast Enterprise and Innovation Programme’.
