Tier 2 - Minor Oral Surgery, Sedation & Restorative Services and Tier 1 Mandatory

NHS England (Central Midlands) commissions a full range of NHS dental services on behalf of its population and would like to commission an intermediate (Tier 2) specialist service across the Central Midlands within Primary Care or community settings.

The Central Midlands area includes the following geographical areas:-

• Lincolnshire
• Leicestershire
• Northamptonshire
• Bedfordshire
• Milton Keynes
• Hertfordshire

The NHS Five Year Forward View sets out new ways of working so that the NHS does more to prevent ill health and use its finite resources in the most effective way. It cites examples of multi-speciality working within community settings. We have used the philosophy of the Five Year Forward View to develop this Specification for Tier 2 Advanced Mandatory Services within primary or intermediate care settings.

It covers:-

• Minor Oral Surgery
• Sedation, and
• Restorative Dentistry
• Plus mandatory services with sedation.

NHS England (Central Midlands) is inviting suitably qualified Providers to a market engagement event taking place on Thursday 21st June 2018 in Northampton (M1 Junction 15) at 2pm (venue to be confirmed).

A draft Service Specification has been attached as part of this PIN for potential Providers to consider and provide their comments.

Please note that an expression of interest in this market event will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise. Any procurement(s) conducted as a result of this event will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when it may be published.

Bidders should submit their expression of interest to attend the market engagement event by no later than 10:00am on Friday 15th June 2018. Once you have registered your interest we will publish further details regarding the event closer to the time. Please note we are only able to accept up-to two attendees per organisation.

This is purely a market engagement exercise, any subsequent procurement will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when published. The responses received during the market analysis exercise will not be taken into account in any future evaluation process as part of the formal procurement process.
