This advert is to make organisations aware of a Market Engagement event to discuss the upcoming procurement of Lymphoedema Care Services. The CCG will present the proposed specification, service model and the procurement process. A description of the service is as follows:
Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG are looking to commission a patient-centred Community Lymphoedema service. The aim is to commission a high quality, evidence-based, effective, equitable and accessible service for adults with lymphoedema, regardless of aetiology, that ensures improved patient outcomes in relation to clinical needs, quality of life, health and well-being.
The service will provide specialist intervention, treatment and support to patients with primary or secondary lymphoedema through clinic and domiciliary services. The service will aim to:
- Provide robust package of care for the specific needs of patients with primary or secondary lymphoedema
- Encourage early identification, timely assessment and high quality treatment of lymphoedema symptoms
- Ensure early recognition, awareness and knowledge of lymphoedema, its prevention and management amongst all health care staff and professionals, and relevant patient groups
- Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers and other appropriate health professionals regarding the management of lymphoedema and associated wound management
- Comply with clinical guidance and good practice
- Provide advice and guidance with regards to the management and prevention of infection of lymphoedema
The service will be able to meet multiple needs and will offer a choice of care options including clinic appointments and domiciliary care.
