Cloud Integration Solution - As part of the UK Government Digital Strategy, UK SBS are planning to modernise and improve the User Experience (UX) for our Oracle e-Business Suite users. The purpose of the change is to enable easier access to information and reduce the time taken in performing certain transactions. Additionally, other benefits are expected, such as increasing user adoption, better data quality and an increase in the amount of data provided by users.

UK SBS currently provides a variety of services to BEIS and UKRI. These include, but are not limited to, Finance, HR, Payroll and self-service access to the core EBS applications. In order to provide these services, UK SBS operates two separate EBS platforms; ROE (Research Oracle Estate) and BOE (BEIS Oracle Estate). Each platform has fully integrated business application suites running on similar but independent infrastructure.

The current ROE and BOE UX is based around older technology and relies on Java and Professional Forms. Whilst acceptable for use for complex processes, the more common functions (such as absence management and expenses) are showing their age to the end users. A new UX is required to ensure that these common functions look and feel modern without major change to the underlying platforms.
