description

The SFO wishes to instruct a firm of solicitors under the Legal Services Framework Agreement (RM919) Lot 7 – General Litigation & Legal Support Services. This will be to provide litigation support in relation to extant civil proceedings for declaratory relief brought by the SFO in the High Court (the “Proceedings”). The Proceedings are being conducted in parallel with an active SFO investigation of a former listed company (the “Investigation” and the “Company”). During the course of the Investigation, the SFO has raised questions in relation to the Company’s position regarding legal professional privilege (“LPP”). In 2016, the SFO commenced the Proceedings, seeking a declaration in this regard.

To date, with the assistance of Leading and Junior Counsel, the SFO has managed the Proceedings, including working with counsel to draft pleadings, preparing evidence and conducting voluntary disclosure.

The trial will commence in early December 2016, with a time estimate of 3-5 days. The SFO will be required to undertake a significant amount of preparation in the period leading up to the trial. Accordingly, the SFO invites responses to this ITQ from firms interested in providing litigation support to the SFO for the remainder of the Proceedings and who can prove their capability.
