Birmingham City Council is seeking to commission community organisations, faith organisations and community groups across Birmingham to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training and Mental Health First Aid Instructor Training to their staff and communities. There is total funding from Public Health England of ?127,000, which has been allocated as per the table in section 2. Requirements/ Specification. This funding is only available until the 9th May 2022.

The aim being that those trained will be able to support their staff and community experiencing mental health problems, ensuring effective conversations with their staff and community regarding their mental health. Staff who are trained to Instructor level will provide a legacy and an opportunity to roll out training more widely.

Tenderers must be organisations working within the below table demographics.

Lot 1A - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting Black African, and Black Caribbean Lot 1B - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting South Asian - Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Indian Lot 1C - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting LGBT

Lot 1D - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting Disability

Lot 1E - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting Men

Lot 1F - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting Chinese

Lot 1G - MHFA and MHFA Instructor Training for organisations supporting Polish & Eastern European

This contract will be for approximately 7 months, commencing November 2021 and expiring on 9th May 2022.
