description
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to work with an experienced supplier with a proven track record to improve information and access for patients and families with a disability who use this Trust. We are looking to engage a supplier for 3 years to undertake a detailed survey of each of the Trust’s sites, using experienced disability access surveyors. In addition, the method employed by the surveyors and the audit used should have the input of people with a disability to their design.
From the survey, we require a detailed online access guide to be produced for each of the Trust’s 5 sites. Access guides will provide a summary of the venue’s accessibility using access icons, photographs and highly detailed information in relation to each of the key features of the venue. Whilst detailed, every single piece of information needs to be included because disabled people have said it is a key aspect of them being able to make judgements about venues and whether they are able to visit them independently. Following this, we would expect regular and speedy updates to the published information as and when physical changes occur across the Trust. In addition, there should be an annual re-audit and update to the information.
The supplier must be a reputable organisation known to and trusted by disabled people and must have ways of reaching large groups of disabled people to raise awareness of and publicise the access guides.
The following are specific requirements for the project work:
- A dedicated homepage for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on the organisation’s website
- Working with the Trust to promote the access guide to patients, staff and visitors
- Regularly contacting/liaising with the Trust to discuss key changes
- Revisiting and reassessing any service that has had a structural change
- Taking photographs
- Inputting data, cropping, sizing, naming photographs
- Quality assurance using IS09001 processes
- Producing an annual report on accessibility
- All hosting and web maintenance
