description
Community Phlebotomy Service. The CCG is offering a single contract to a single vendor who will be responsible for delivering all specified services and outcomes in return of the agreed financial payment, payable within the terms established as part of this tender process. The prime provider may sub-contract elements of the services to meet the requirements of the specification; however the prime provider is wholly responsible for the establishment of those sub-contracting arrangements and is liable for any payments throughout its supply chain. The Community Phlebotomy Service takes blood samples from patients who have been identified by their GP or other health care professional as needing a blood test. Blood tests have a wide range of uses and are one of the most common types of medical test. In general there is an increase in demand for phlebotomy services. This is due to amongst others things; effective health promotion, an ageing population and an increase in disease prevalence and long term conditions.
