Chronic uncertainty creates chronic stress, and sometimes traumatic stress. All types of stress have the ability to affect the individual and other people around. Ofqual wants to understand this process and be able to spot the signs and be able to make reasonable adjustments to avoid long term issues, and create sustainability.

Key Objectives

1. To collaborate with Ofqual to help them to support themselves and their colleagues.
2. Inform all people managers in the key elements of the chronic stress conditions; giving Ofqual its best chance of keeping its employees healthy, effective and happy.
3. Discreetly support high-risk groups (long hours, large responsibility, consistency of pressure, and remote working)
4. Work with team leaders to ascertain how to support and guide their colleagues going forward.
5. Provide bespoke therapeutic support to individuals over coming months, to help their recovery and reduce risk of vicarious traumatisation.
6. Ofqual is cognisant of upcoming stressors and wants to ameliorate further traumatic stress, in already under resourced employees.
