Tree & Woodland Strategy/Policy

Sandwell MBC is seeking to engage an experienced and qualified Arboricultural Consultant/Consultancy to develop a Tree and Woodland Strategy and Policy for Sandwell.

The successful supplier will:

• oReview and develop specific tree policies related to planning, housing, highways, and parks.
• oDevelop specific tree strategies (risk, cyclical proactive management, reactive management, emergency works, linking with our climate change action plan)
• oDevelop a management standards document and approach for the various aspects of delivery
• oScope the actions required to develop an Urban Forestry Master Plan and supporting documents
• oScope the delivery of a sustainable tree planting programme, aligned with SMBC goals and Climate Change Action Plan goals

The successful supplier will have experience of working with Local Authorities and public sector organisations on tree and urban forestry policy, planning and approaches, as well as best practice.
