This contract will be to fill some key evidence gaps around blue carbon within coastal saline lagoons identified by marine specialists in Natural England's Marine Habitats and Species team within the Chief Scientist's Directorate. The project will be managed by NE's saline lagoon specialist, and the SRO is NE's senior marine climate change and blue carbon specialist.
The contract will be carried out within the 2023/24 financial year and comprises of three distinct phases:
Phase 1: Scoping report
Phase 2: Baseline evidence collection from a pilot site identified in phase 1 Phase 3: Data analysis, reporting & recommendations
