description

Phoenix Community Housing, as the freeholder of the Fellowship Inn public house, has been awarded Heritage Lottery funding to fully refurbish this grade 2 listed building. The building is currently on Historic England's 'at risk' register due to its overall poor condition.

The refurbishment work will create a fully accessible mixed leisure development which will include two refurbished bars and entertainment hall on the ground floor. The lower ground floor will include a working cellar and space for commercial kitchen, as well as a cafe and 80 seat single screen cinema. The old landlord's accommodation on the upper floors will provide self-contained office and rehearsal space for a local youth music service provider.

The refurbishment works will include

-Demolition

-Structural works

-External and internal repairs

-Acoustic insulation

-Roofing works

-Window and door renewal

-New service installations

-Two lift installation

-New surface treatments

-New fixtures, fittings, and finishes.

-Full fit out of the cinema including audio visual equipment

-Other works items as detailed in the tender documents.

Works are to be carried out under a JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractors Design and in accordance of the schedule of works, specification documents and drawings, or in the case of the contractor's designed portion, in line with the provided performance specification.

This tender is our selection process to identify an experienced contractor to work with Phoenix and the design team to deliver a building that reflects and meets Phoenix's vision and requirements.
