description
Following the success of the Commonwealth Games the city council is determined to maximise the cultural and sporting legacy our citizens will benefit from. There are currently a number of opportunities that exist but to ensure progress additional capacity is needed to support the Culture and Events teams.
The key Deliverables / Outputs for the successful supplier are:
- To project manage the delivery of new Cultural Events in the city including being the liaison point for events/culture on Eurovision
- To carry out feasibility work and develop business cases to progress and potentially secure our 5 target cultural events
- To provide support to the Head of Culture on maximising the wider linkages to the Bham Festival 2023 by delivering discrete projects
- To develop the city's approach to supporting festivals in the city
- Developing the 'cultural curator' idea with BIDs, piloting activity to demonstrate the success of activating spaces in the city centre
- Setting out approaches as to how new events could be brought to the city and innovative commercial approaches that could be adopted
- Project manage the city's approach to bidding for Invictus Games (clarification points arising from the city's expression of interest submission and leading on bid book development), including bringing in external support as needed
- Undertake a review of Esports and set out the case for progressing the key opportunities identified
- Undertake a review of key opportunities (via city centre planning) to maximise the ability of Bham to attract major events.
