description
A system to detect the fluorescence/photoluminescence from specific sites on a surface. Our current experiments are focussed on fluorescence studies of sub-monolayer coverages of organic dye molecules which are adsorbed on boron nitride flakes and have been carried out with a commercial Horiba LABRAM system. We now wish to set up a dedicated optical system for these measurements and extend our current work to lifetime measurements. We will use the microscope with the sample in air and also in an optical cryostat. The microscope will need to be configured for access to the sample in the cryostat; the minimum working distance should be 4mm for compatibility with the cryostat manufacturer. Image acquisition using a CCD camera is also a requirement.
