description

NIBSC requires a document management system to support the quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025 and EDQM) and legal requirements for HTA Research and Human Application sectors. Each of these standards have specific requirements for document control process which are currently fulfilled by an electronic document control system called Workbench (WB).

Workbench has been used to provide document control at NIBSC since 2003 when Ideagen was selected following a procurement process to find the most appropriate document management system.

In 2015 Ideagen purchased the Q-Pulse system from Gael (previous Q-Pulse owner) and have subsequently decided to retire the Workbench system and to support Q-Pulse only which provides all the same functionality as Workbench.
