description
Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council; through the Joint Commissioning Team, is seeking quotes for the provision of a 'Therapy service ' which will work as an integral part of Barnsley's Independent Living at Home ( ILAH) service. Re-enablement focus is on restoration of independent functional ability. In doing so service users are supported to increase their capacity to do things for themselves rather than rely on others. This approach therefore enables personal resilience in a safe and confident way. The aim is to maximise long-term independence and quality of life which is a key priority for Barnsley. The primary focus of the Therapy Service will be to: 1. Promote the 'wellbeing' of both the person with a re-enablement need and their carer (where appropriate). 2. Provide advice and guidance to the re-enablement team on the most update practices in respect of maximising people's potential and functional abilities by increasing user's self-confidence. 3. Provide therapy intervention as part of the re-enablement support through intervention from Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy. The proportion of Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy input within each case will be determine by the presenting Needs of the service user as will be the frequency of intervention. The principle aim of this request for quotation is to commission a Provider to deliver the 'Therapy Service' through a combination of Physio and Occupational therapist who would be deployed across the Barnsley area as part of the ILAH service team. It is expected that Therapist for this service will be based with the ILAH service in Central Barnsley. It is anticipated that ILAH will potentially support between 600-1000 referrals in the contracted year however not all referrals will require therapy input. Support is provided Monday to Friday and between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00. 61 hours of therapy is expected from this service per week. The 'Therapy Service' value is for up to £72,000 per annum, which would be commissioned under contract with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council for a period of 1 YEAR ONLY which will be subject to satisfactory performance during the period as evaluated Joint Commissioning.
