Outline Scope The scope of work comprises the demolition and complete removal of the existing timber glulam beam roof over the main pool hall and replacement with a new steel truss roof which will be split into two sections with a centrally located roof light running the length of the roof. It is envisaged that the new roof shall be a duo pitch standing seam roof, with an acoustic perforated deck. Each section will span away and up from the roof light towards the high level lateral glazing around the perimeter of the proposed roof. The roof void shall contain an accessible services void and walkway accessed from an adjacent roof. Mechanical, electrical and public health systems associated with the main pool hall shall be replaced and modified to suit the new roof to include a new rainwater disposal system, air handling unit and associated ductwork to the main pool, updating pumps and associated equipment, including controls, cleaning and refixing existing ductwork, ventilation and extract system grilles. A section of the existing below ground drainage shall need to be diverted and the existing gas service extended to serve the flume tower plant room. The main low voltage panels shall be replaced, together with cabling and distribution boards to the main pool and new general and emergency lighting system to the main pool hall. New hard and soft external landscaping works shall be required to the perimeter of the site.
Existing ancillary roofs over the changing village, Sauna World and Coconut Café will be overhauled and repaired.
The existing ride tower is to be completely demolished and a new reinforced concrete frame tower and link corridor will be constructed with a launch platform at approx. 12.5m above ground level. The tower shall be clad with a proprietary insulated wall panel system and shall have an integral lift and staircase for guests. At ground floor and basement level, a mechanical, electrical and aquatic plant room will be constructed along with a balancing tank and an aquatic riser from the plant room that connects to an aquatic services riser that provides water to the flumes. New water treatment systems shall also be installed to serve the new rides.
- new flumes will be constructed comprising an oscillating funnel slide, bowl slide, body slide, and two gravity ring rides. The flumes shall be supplemented with audio visual special effect systems. The supply and installation of the new flumes, special effects, aquatic plant and water treatment systems shall be undertaken by a nominated specialist aquatic package sub-contractor.
Internal public facing areas shall be completely refurbished to comprise main reception area, changing village, café, Sauna World and Lazy River. The scope of this work shall include new internal fixtures, fittings and equipment internal wall, floor and ceiling finishes, and new mechanical and electrical installations.
