description

The following CCG's, collectively known as the South Essex CCGs are seeking information from the provider market place in relation to the procurement of Tier III Weight Management Services:

Castle Point and Rochford CCG
Southend CCG
Thurrock CCG
Basildon and Brentwood CCG

The South Essex CCGs currently commission Tier III Weight Management Services to provide the link between Tier I and II population wide services and lifestyle interventions and Tier IV Specialist Bariatric Surgical Services.

The primary aim of the current service is to reduce the prevalence of obesity in the Basildon and Brentwood, Castle Point & Rochford, Southend and Thurrock CCGs' area, in order to improve the health of its resident adult population.

The current programme provides a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing behavioural, psychological and clinical challenges faced by obese individuals. The service provides a programme of 14 sessions followed by a programme of 6 sessions of on-going support to enable patients to achieve the required outcomes. The service is expected to provide a variety of evidenced-based, group, 1-to-1 and online/telephone support to improve uptake and adherence to the programme.

With this RFI The South Essex CCGs are seeking to learn the level of possible interest from organisations in relation to providing a Tier III Weight Management Service. The same information will be gathered from different organisations to inform our service model and future procurement plan.

The CCG is seeking to commission a high quality, timely and accessible service to NHS patients that will focus on patient outcomes in line with NICE guidelines.
