description

North London Waste Authority (the Authority) is seeking a contractor to carry out works to construct a northern access to the Edmonton EcoPark.

North London Waste Authority is a statutory authority whose principal responsibility is the disposal of waste collected by the seven north London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. The Authority predominantly manages its waste arisings through its waste management contract with LondonEnergy Limited (LEL), a private company which is wholly owned by the Authority. LEL operates an existing Energy from Waste facility at the Edmonton EcoPark which is due to be replaced by the Authority's North London Heat and Power Project (NLHPP).

Under the NLHPP, the Authority will develop a new Energy Recovery Facility at the Edmonton EcoPark pursuant to a Development Consent Order granted to the Authority on 24 February 2017. The construction of a northern access to the Edmonton EcoPark is part of the preparatory works for the NLHPP.

The northern access works will provide access to the Edmonton EcoPark from the north via Deephams Farm Road, off Ardra Road.

Further details of the required works are set out in the Memorandum of Information, forming part of the procurement documents.
