Credit Union Opportunity Exeter City Council

The Council is considering an investment into a credit union that can demonstrate that they encourage saving, provide loans to members at low rates of interest and provide members with help and support on managing their financial affairs.

With Local Welfare Support funding coming to an end, Exeter City Council needs to look at new ways of supporting the community to be able to help themselves. The objective of this procurement exercise is to support an alternative to doorstep lending or payday loans. The contract is intended to run for 3 years, therefore it is essential that interested parties can prove their sustainability.

Note that the contract value c£36k is an estimate only and the actual contract value will be dependent on a variety of factors.

Expressions of interest are now sought and should be emailed to the Interim Corporate Procurement Manager : howard.gaunt@exeter.gov.uk by no later than noon 17 March 2016.

Expressions should include an overview (500 words max) based upon experience and achievement in this service arena and put forward a rounded view as to what innovative service solutions would be realised by the Council through a potential contract.
