Summer Works - Roofing, Decoration, M&E Works and Classroom Conversions at Harris Academy Battersea

Harris Academy Battersea is a Secondary School which is part of The Harris Federation The Academy is located on Battersea Park Road, London, SW11 5AP. The Academy's site consists of four connected buildings surrounding a central courtyard: the North block (main entrance on Battersea Park Road), East block, West block and South block. The school buildings are aging and in need of general refurbishment and technical upgrade: the heating distribution system is not efficient with uneven heat distribution throughout the buildings, the water distribution needs intervention to replace corroded pipework and dispose of old water tanks, some roofs are leaking and the internal circulation and teaching spaces need redecoration and lighting upgrade. The fire safety system also needs to be addressed. However this is being treated separately and is not part of this tender. The refurbishment works will address the main issues and consist of the following:

Lot (A) = External Works, including overlay of a leaking metal pitched roof, covering works of a flat roof and high-level gutters / balconies, leak investigation to high level chimney and external redecoration of Crittal windows on the second floor (West block). Lot (B) = Internal Works, including internal redecoration of rooms and circulation spaces; replacement of fan convectors at high level in the boys' gym; replacement of HWS pipework in the West block; connection to the cold water main with installation of a new booster pump; replacement of water heater plant; complete flushing of the heating distribution system in all buildings; conversion of two classrooms into science labs on the ground and first floor of the North block.
