Economic growth is central to the overall strategy for Greater Manchester. It will be essential to raising incomes, improving health and quality of life, and providing the finances to deliver better infrastructure, services and facilities. Greater Manchester has the opportunity to lead with the Government's 'levelling up' agenda by helping to deliver a more successful North of England and aiding the long-term economic success of the country as a whole.
Bury Council is seeking to appoint an experienced consultancy (or consultancy team) to prepare a comprehensive and aspirational Economic Strategy for Bury that will guide the Council's approach to delivering a sustainable, competitive, inclusive and resilient local economy that fulfils its growth potential and makes a significant contribution to Greater Manchester's wider economic strength over the next ten years.
The scope of the requirement covers three key interrelated elements:

The contract will be for a period of approximately 6 months and is expected to commence October 2021.
