Traffic Ops Screen

1.0The Traffic operations room is located at Medway Councils Offices at Civic Headquarters Gun Wharf , Dock Road Chatham in Kent and is equipped with a Barco video wall system, which was installed in 2010. 1.1 It currently comprises of a 2x1 Wall of 70 OVF-715 Rear projection Cubes (Lamp Based) - front Accessed . The end of Service Life for these units is the latter part of 2017. It has a PWS-101 Wall controller for the 2x1 Wall Controller, the service life ending towards the latter part of 2017 - however it is based on Windows XP (which Microsoft have deemed end-of support life and therefore is in need of replacement imminently) This cannot be upgraded to Windows 7 due to the bus architecture of plug in cards. It has Apollo Wall management software - which is supported only on best effort and is Windows XP only including desktop clients. 1.2 Currently there is no maintenance contract in place for the above 1.3 Medway are seeking to upgrade the above system to bring into line with current technology and incorporate a maintenance contract to ensure ongoing service. We would be looking at replacing the current light bulb operated technology with LED projection units, replacing the wall controller to be Windows 7 compatible, with soft ware capable of displaying different sized and movable images on the wall unit. Any software / system must be capable of operating with Medway's current UTMC system and Imcity common data base operator system
