description

There is an existing bridge over the North Ring Drain, which consists of two concrete abutments, 7 steel beams and a concrete floor. Span is approximately 15m, width 5m. This bridge has reached the end of its life and needs replacement.

The specification is to remove the existing bridge and replace with a new structure, to be designed by the contractor. It is assumed that this will be a culvert bridge, with a 600mm culvert and appropriate solid head walls and concrete road bed, and a capacity of at least 40 tonnes (total weight).
