Hull City Council is seeking a suitably qualified Public Analyst Service provider to carry out analysis in relation to Food Standards, Feed Standards, Product Safety, and to provide General Scientific Advice.

The Public Analysts Service will enforce the provisions of the Food Safety Act 1990, the Agriculture Act 1970 and Consumer Product Safety Legislation.

In order to be considered for this work, tenderers must employ suitably qualified staff, under the supervision of a Public Analyst holding the Mastership in Chemical Analysis qualification. Tenderers must also be accredited to undertake tests/analyses in at least three of the following five categories:

Meat Species

Alcohol ABV/Authentication

Undesirable Substances Aflatoxins

Undesirable Substances Metals

Toys (Mechanical & Physical Properties)

The Authority proposes to enter into one Contract for a period of 3 years with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider), with an option to extend for a period or periods of up to a maximum of 12 months.

Such extension will be at the discretion of the Council and subject to satisfactory performance.
