Catering Services - Aspen Gardens Bistro

North Star is looking to procure a provider of catering services to operate and run The Bistro at our Aspen Gardens site.

Our Extra Care scheme, Aspen Gardens is located in the Hardwick area of Stockton. The Scheme is part of a regeneration area within a large housing estate of mixed development and tenure. The service is located close to a number of local amenities and on the doorstep to North Tees Hospital.

The extra care scheme was developed in partnership with Stockton Borough Council and North Star to meet the needs of older people who need care and support to continue to live independently in the community and in their own home. The service opened in 2007, it is a building with a mixture of 50, two bedroomed apartments and Bungalows set around a courtyard with vast outdoor space.

The building has several valuable facilities including a commercial kitchen enabling us to serve meals throughout the day in our fully refurbished light and airy bistro area, communal lounges, training rooms/facilities, a memory room, commercial laundry facilities, a hairdressing room, a guest room to enable family members to visit and staff offices. We have recently developed our gardens at the scheme to enable tenants to grow flowers and fresh produce along with housing egg laying hens.

North Star have staff based on site providing housing related support to tenants to enable them to live independently in their own home, we also deliver a repair person service on site.

The local authority commission and oversee the care contract on site currently delivered by comfort call. Care staff are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to tend to resident's needs.

Aspen Gardens promotes independent living with an inclusive environment for all our residents. The health and wellbeing of our tenants is important to us, and we offer facilities to enable people to live life to their best potential

The scheme is established in the local community, we also have a sheltered housing service next door to Aspen Gardens housing 20 flats, we encourage our tenants to integrate and utilize the services, events, and activities on offer within Aspen Gardens.
