The Council wishes to appoint a single manager to manage a passive global equity mandate which will be split between tracking broad UK and global market cap weighted indices (e.g. FTSE All Share and FTSE All World) and a broad, non-market capitalisation, fundamentally weighted global equity index (e.g. FTSE RAFI 3000).
The key mandate parameters are flexible, but the following provides a broad outline:
| • | One part of the mandate will be allocated to tracking both UK and global market capitalisation weighted equity indices in proportions yet to be determined. |
| • | The second part of the mandate will be allocated to tracking a fundamentally weighted global equity index whose constituents will cover all global regions and sectors (e.g. the FTSE RAFI 3000 Index). |
| • | The initial value of the overall mandate is expected to be in the region of £400m; the split between market capitalisation and fundamentally weighted indices has yet to be determined. |
| • | Candidates must be able to comply with the appropriate LGPS regulations |
The Council reserves the right to alter the value of the funds awarded, both at outset and at an unspecified point in the future.
