Provision of School Meals - The Grove Primary School

Providers are invited to complete an Invitation to Tender (referred to from now on as ITT) outlining their bid for The Grove Primary School, as detailed in the Tender documents.

The Grove School is a larger than average sized primary school with 308 pupils on roll in September 2016. At the time of the last inspection in January 2013 206 pupils were on roll, an increase of 49.5%. The School serves an area of high deprivation in the centre of a large council housing estate on the edge of Cambridge City Centre.

The current provision is ‘cook from scratch’, on site at The Grove Primary School. It is expected that the Successful Provider will continue this provision, using the facilities already in place at the School.

The ITT process is being facilitated by LGSS Procurement, but please note that the Contract will be between the Provider and The Grove Primary School. The final decision of Contract award rests with the individual school. LGSS Procurement is acting on behalf of the school, and as such is impartial.

The service will be required from April 2017 onwards and TUPE will apply. This contract is for three years, with an option to extend for twelve months, subject to annual review. For clarity, the maximum possible duration of the Contract, should the extension be taken up is four years. The detailed requirements are defined in the Specification.

The deadline for completed ITTs to be received on the LGSS eTendering Portal is 12:00 noon on Thursday 24th November 2016.
