description

The role of the Supervising Engineer will be:

  • firstly, to provide assistance with checking of attached e-tender draft documentation for the construction of the Works; particularly checking correct representation and transcription of levels on the supplied draft construction drawings and in the specification, and supply up to 3 additional drawings as necessary.
  • secondly, undertake all pre-design duties under CDM regulations. Carry out a review of design risks and include the residual risks on the finalised drawings and in the risk register to be issued to the construction tenderers;
  • thirdly, provide technical assistance with the engagement of a suitable Contractor to construct the identified Works through NE's Bravo e-tendering system and;
  • fourthly, administer and supervise the Construction Contract on behalf of Natural England who will let the Contract through Bravo.

Detail of the requirement is given in section 2 of Annex 1.

It is anticipated that this Supervising Engineer contract will be awarded for a period of 20 weeks to end no later than 22/12/21, unless there is substantial disruption from Covid19 or adverse weather. We may at our sole discretion extend this contract to include related or further work upto the 30th June 2022. In pricing the tender please provide a weekly cost for the continued provision of stage 3 services for the period beyond the expected programme length.
