Provision of an investigations management system to facilitate HSIB's national and maternity investigations.

HSIB require a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud-based investigations management system which will deliver a number of benefits including:

  • a.A fit for purpose investigations management platform to support investigations activities ensuring alignment with HSIB's investigations management principles and processes.
  • b.Allowing users to accomplish as much of their work on investigations within the system as possible, and without recourse to external applications or documents.
  • c.A highly secure system for a variety of sensitive information which will be stored within the system.
  • d.Improvements to the front-end user experience for referring an incident to HSIB by developing user-centric interfaces which maximise ease of reporting for external stakeholders.
  • e.A simplified user interface to support the diverse internal user base to combat current system circumventions due to complexity of existing systems.
  • f.Increased, configurable management information and reporting capabilities to drive consistency and efficiencies in data analysis and reporting.
  • g.Provision of a real time dashboard on the status of all cases.
  • h.Improved system scalability to support future growth.
  • i.Secure unified access from any location, on any device, increasing system accessibility.
  • j.Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to allow future data integration initiatives and improve data export/ analysis capabilities.
  • k.Enhanced ability to track, manage and report on safety recommendations.
  • l.Flexible workflow functionality to drive consistency and efficiencies in investigations.
  • m.Platform automation for common tasks to drive consistencies and efficiencies when performing investigations and producing reports.
  • n.Increased security and data governance.
  • o.A system that reduces the overhead of the in-house support function, whereby reliability and availability are monitored and managed by the Supplier against a strict service level agreement.
