description

NHS England – Lancashire and Greater Manchester Area Team wishes to engage with potential providers through a Request for Information (RFI) process in relation of a proposed procurement of an Enhanced Dental Training Service within the Morecambe/Heysham area.

The clinical objective of the NHS England Lancashire and Greater Manchester Area Team is to deliver high quality clinical services; in relation to NHS dentistry, as:

Patient-centred and value for money, primary dental care services, delivered in a safe and effective manner, through a learning environment, which includes the continuing professional development of dentists and other dental professionals.

There are three key clinical principles that underpin this clinical objective. These principles form the basis of the clinical quality requirements. The principles are:

Services should be patient-centred
Services must be delivered safely, and through a learning environment; and
Services must be effective

The links between, and the integration of, the three clinical principles are vital to provide clinical oversight, ensure the maintenance of patient safety and provide a framework through which there is continuous clinical quality improvement.

The service will also host an Enhanced Training environment for students from the Dental Education Centre in line with the Dental curriculum of the University of Central Lancashire.

Potential Providers are requested to complete the RFI documentation by 12 noon 20th May 2015.

Following receipt of the RFI responses providers will be invited to 1:1 sessions with NHS England Lancashire and Greater Manchester Area Team to be held the week commencing of 1st June 2015.

The North of England Commissioning Support Unit (NECS) is managing the RFI process for and on behalf of NHS England – Lancashire and Greater Manchester Area Team.
