Sports Facilities Strategy and a Playing Pitch Strategy

Brief Scope of Services

Scope of services includes:

Kettering Borough Council (KBC) is seeking to appoint a consultant to provide a Sports Facilities Strategy (SFS) and a Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) for the Borough. These documents will guide the future provision and management of sports facilities and playing pitches to serve both the existing and proposed communities across Kettering up to 2031.

They will provide a concise, robust, comprehensive and up-to-date evidence base for the preparation of the Part 2 Local Plan for Kettering Borough and set out a strategic and action planned approach to the enhancement of existing and creation of new pitch and sporting provision, including changing room and ancillary support facilities. They will include a longer term management and maintenance plan for all pitch and sporting provision including changing room and ancillary support facilities.

Preparation of the strategies will include auditing and assessing the quantity, quality and accessibility of the Borough's existing sporting facilities and pitch provision.

Stage A: Prepare and tailor the approach: Dec 2018 - Jan 2019

Stage B: Audit & Consult (gather info and views on the supply and demand of provision) & Stage C: Assess the supply and demand information and views on Summer though to winter sports: Feb 2019 - Sept 2019

Stage D: Develop the strategy:

Draft: Sept 2019 - Oct 2019

Revisions: Nov 2019 - Dec 2019

Final: Jan 2020
