description

This section of Public Bridleway forms part of the South Downs Way National Trail (SDW), a 100 mile long-distance path that spans the entire length of the South Downs National Park.

In the winter months the surface of the path is very difficult to negotiate by walkers, cyclists and equestrians due to and a thick layer of topsoil and poor drainage. The path follows the edge of a field and has never been used as a trackway for vehicular access therefore there is not a hard base beneath.

This section of the SDW runs east to west, between the Meon Valley Trail and the Monarch's Way on the western slopes of Old Winchester Hill. The work site is 8 miles west of Petersfield, just off the A32 on the edge of Exton village in Hampshire. Grid Ref = SU625 210. Post code: SO32 3NR
