Successful activity delivered over 2015/16 has demonstrated that partnerships are a very important and effective way for CQC to extend reach. Partnerships remain vital to the success of the 2016-2017 Public Engagement strategy. They will help to;

| • | Women in England choosing elective surgery |
| • | Women in England choosing adult social care on behalf of themselves, or a loved one |
CQC will use the partnership to:
| • | Increase public awareness and understanding of CQC and through this build confidence in our role and purpose; |
| • | Prompt women in England aged 18+ to share their experiences of care with CQC to inform when, where and what CQC inspects; |
| • | Provide opportunities for women in England aged 18+ to take part in engagement activities that support CQC to gain insight from this audience about their views on how CQC discharges it’s regulatory functions; |
