The City of London Police are currently embarking on a major transformational change programme which includes a rationalisation of the existing estate (the Accommodation Programme) and moves to new ways of working. The Accommodation Programme has been ongoing since 2012 and is scheduled to last until circa 2020, by which time the number of Police Stations within the Square Mile will have been reduced from three to one and the remaining Police Station at Wood Street will have been completely redeveloped into a modern, fit for purpose 21st Century facility.

This tender is to ensure these moves take place from an appointed supplier.

The internal and external office removals service shall include without limitation the following:

  • the planning, programming and organising of removals in liaison with representative,
  • removal, unloading and repositioning of effects within offices, between offices within individual buildings and between sites. The removals service includes items such as furniture, safes, filing cabinets, wall boards, sundry office contents and information technology equipment. The service also includes the disconnection and removal (but not reconnection) of desk-based IT equipment (e.g. monitors, keyboards, telephones etc.),
  • the systematic removal of files from file storage systems and the re-instatement of those files into new locations,
  • the transportation of unwanted materials to an authorised disposal facility and the provision of certification,
