This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver a bespoke pre-employment training and employment access solution for Lone Parents wanting to develop a pathway into sustainable employment.
The Project 20,000 Work Local (Lone Parents) Programme is an enhanced and targetted employment support offer to disadvantaged Lone Parents, partnering with the council’s Employment and Skills service, DWP offices, Childrens Centres and expert training providers to deliver training solutions in community settings.
We are anticipating upto 15 projects across all 10 Birmingham Districts and in particular areas of the City with the highest numbers of Income Support claimants (Washwood Heath, Yardley, Birmingham South West, Erdington and Selly Oak).
Training providers will need to design and deliver bespoke pre-employment training courses offering intensive motivational, employability, understanding of the labour market, job seeking, building experience through volunteering and work experience, CV building, engagement with Jobcentre Plus offices and applying for jobs and accessing jobs.
Birmingham City Council, on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (Birmingham and Solihull District), invites organisations to make an application to be considered to provide and facilitate targetted self-help support and training circles in which they will develop and deliver bespoke employability training and an employment access programme to meet the needs of the cohort.
The contract has a maximum budget of £172,500 to deliver 15 training cohorts comprising a maximum of 240 training participants, and organisations can bid to deliver upto 3 cohorts.
