Reading Borough Council is seeking suppliers / contractors who are highly experienced in the supply of modular temporary residential accommodation, including site preparations, foundations and services installation.
Location and History and Requirements
Reading Borough Council has a site to the north east of Reading which it wishes to use to accommodate between 20 and 30 modular construction 2 bedroom apartments. The site has previously been used as a mobile home park and it has a service road along its length, with road access via the bordering residential area.
The works required, include:
| • | Clearing the site of the existing temporary foundations, removal of redundant services |
| • | Preparation of site and construction of foundations to suit proposed modular buildings |
| • | Installation of the full range of services, electricity, water, drainage and communications. |
| • | Supply, fit out and installation of modular units |
| • | Landscape works, including construction of amenity/play space and car parking. |
The contract value is expected to be in the region of £1.6m.
Organisations who believe they can fulfil the requirements and would anticipate being able to carry out all the works should notify the council of their interest. A brief summary of their organisational experience and capability (no more than 2 sides of A4) by 5pm on 8th March 2016 using the correspondence function in In-Tend.
In order to respond you will need to register on In-Tend select "view details" then "express interest" and you will be able to create correspondence and attach your response.
Reading Borough Council intends to use the information supplied to assess whether suitable specialist providers exist to meet our requirements.
If the Council decides that there is sufficient interest from specialist suppliers /contractors we may decide to proceed with a procurement exercise via further advertisement, which will formerly invite tenders.
The Council does not commit to enter into a formal procurement exercise at this stage.
