description

The North East Combined Authority (NECA) is the accountable body for the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (North East LEP).

Sunderland City Council on behalf of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (North East LEP) / NECA is seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified contractor to develop and pilot an innovative approach to assessing future skills needs in the offshore wind sector in the North East LEP area If the pilot proves successful, there will be an opportunity to extend the contract to run further pilots in tourism and in relation to the digital employment and skills needs of the health and social care sector. . This research will inform the decision making of the North East Skills Advisory Panel, industry groups and others.

This will include identifying, scoping and developing new methodologies to undertake skills assessments and working closely with the North East LEP in order to make recommendations about which of these should be pursued, piloting the agreed approach and, subject to successful delivery, undertaking the same methodology in two further sectors.
