PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS FOR TRANSPARENCY PURPOSES ONLY, ONLY CAPABLE SUPPLIERS UNDER THE DIGITAL SERVICES FRAMEWORK WILL BE INVITED TO BID.
A workshop was conducted with a small representative group of Defence personnel to gather views on a future vision for the Intranet. The output was an agreed consensus of a vision for a new Defence Intranet.
The new intranet will take advantage of the latest thinking and technology to help staff work smarter, faster, better and cheaper. It will be there to help Defence personnel get the job done, wherever they are and whatever the task. It will be useful, authoritative, informative and engaging – a valued member of the team. It will be simple to use and secure.
The new intranet can be tailored to serve news, tools and information. It will be designed around the people who use it, not the people who manage it, and Defence personnel have a say in the Intranet’s new design and content.
There is no firm position on the future look-and-feel, although we would expect it to follow the user-centred design guidelines outlined in the Service Standard.
Workshops are envisaged to solicit stakeholders buy-in and opinion and this activity should form part of the Discovery phase of the programme.
