Translation and Interpretation Services (CF23)

The Council has a requirement for translation and interpretation Services. These Services include the written translation of documents and information into other languages and verbal language interpretation. Interpretation Services will be required in respect of individual customers of the Council and may be in person at a meeting or remotely conducted via free or low rate telephone number or video conferencing. Council Services requiring language support will often be dealing with vulnerable customers, including children, with highly sensitive issues. It is therefore envisaged that the successful tenderer will have a proven track record of providing quality Services to public sector organisations, preferably local authorities. The translated text to be provided either electronically or in hard copy format dependent on the type of document. The Council will award the contract to one main Contractor. However, in the event that the main Contractor is not able to fulfil a Service requirement (e.g. no translator/interpreter is available or they are unable to provide translation/interpretation within the required timeframe), the Council reserves the right to award the specific Service to the Contractor ranked second in the selection process. This Contract may also be used by Cheshire West and Chester schools, Voluntary Organisations and any other organisation delivering Services on behalf of the Council (Vivo, Brio, CoSocius and also the Joint Venture Company which is to be established from June 2015 between Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council and Wirral Council etc.) The Council has a requirement for translation and interpretation Services. Additional information: This procurement is being conducted via The Chest (Due North). All questions regarding this procurement and the tender responses MUST be made via The Chest (Due North).
