description

Leeds Culture Club is a newly formed cultural partnership which seeks to take up long-term opportunities to develop and promote Leeds as a city with a high quality, inspiring and internationally appealing cultural offer. The partnership of cultural venues represents the arts offer across the city region through its members: East Street Arts, Harewood House, Henry Moore Institute, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds College of Music, Leeds Museums & Art Gallery, Northern Ballet, Opera North, Phoenix Dance, Royal Armouries, The Tetley, University of Leeds, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Yorkshire Dance and Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We aspire to the Leeds City Region becoming one of the top cultural destinations in the UK and a place that attracts and retains talent.
This is the first piece of work to be commissioned by the partnership. The intention is that an economic impact assessment will be commissioned annually enabling the group to chart the contribution made by the larger cultural organisations to the economic life of the city over time. We are also interested in exploring the sphere of influence and the less tangible contributions made by the culture sector.
