description
Bradford is a vibrant, diverse and global city, the youngest and one of the most dynamic places in the UK. Our city and district is enterprising, energetic and extraordinary. Bradford has been selected as one of five 'innovation areas' in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Integrating Communities Strategy, alongside Blackburn with Darwen, Peterborough, Walsall and Waltham Forest. Each place faces different integration challenges. Bradford is known nationally as one of the areas taking an asset-based approach to delivery and drive improvement on integration. However, Bradford needs to 'raise it's game' when it comes to the district communicating its position on how we bring people together and the values we collectively hold, and encourage people to hold, in respect of each other. We need a more developed and high profile communications approach to cohesion. The aim of the Integrating Communities Strategy is to provide learning and best practice from other local authorities and further develop approaches to drive through improved integration outcomes. Bradford Council wants to commission a creative agency to support work on the future Integration Strategy and support a Bradford programme which promotes innovative approaches to integration. We need a creative agency that can match our ambition to promote a whole society approach to integration that has benefits for everyone. The key focus will be on developing an Integrating Communities communications campaign strategy and to support its delivery. The Integrating Communities communications strategy would complement the ongoing Bradford place marketing strategy. The initial outcomes from the place marketing strategy have identified Bradford as a place of 'welcome and opportunity'
