description
The Insolvency Service wishes to appoint a Recruitment Agency that can provide a shortlist of candidates for various roles within The Insolvency Service’s I&T department over a potential two year period.
A recent review uncovered significant weaknesses across the I&T team. Critical systems are supported by single individuals, and many underlying problems, such as performance issues and software bugs have not been addressed.
The effect of such problems has a noticeable and constant impact on the ability of the Insolvency Service to deliver its core business. Many of the technologies in use across the service are proprietary in nature, out of date and expensive to maintain. The organisation has made very limited progress in aligning itself to UK Government IT Strategy, and limited success in embracing digital channels.
Recognising these issues, the management team took the decision to re-organise the department resulting in an increased number of technical posts, and as a result vacancies. The purpose of this competition is to identify a partner with which that management team can work in order to identify, interview and, as appropriate, offer employment to suitable candidates.
There is also the possibility that some of these posts will be filled by internal promotions and moves, although in that case it is expected that other roles will become vacant and will need to be filled.
All posts will be based at the Insolvency Service’s Birmingham office
