description
The ASD Support Service provides training, advice and support to early year's settings and schools. It also provides some direct, specialist intervention with individual children and families. This support is essential in ensuring that children with autism are able to sustain their school placements and are supported to achieve and thrive.
As part of the work to re-commission an ASD Support Service in BANES, a consultation and full review was carried out to develop a clear understanding of what this new service specification should include. This consultation was started in November 2018 with all stakeholders, including parent/carers, educational settings, other professionals and children/young people with ASD.
The Council are holding a pre-tender, engagement event on Friday 10th January 2020 at 1pm for potential providers. This will provide us with the opportunity to provide interested parties with the results of this consultation, share our proposed service specification and provide details regarding the tender process. The tender process will take place to commission a provider to run the service from September 2020.
