description
Area 1
Area 1 comprises two cascading earthwork bunds on green space to the north of Back Street. The upper bund has a water storage volume of approximately 1000m3 whilst the lower bund has a water storage volume of approximately 800m3. Flows of surface run-off water will be diverted from the adjacent watercourse into the first bund, where a flow control device will allow a controlled flow into the second bund along a stream channel to the south of the first bund. Another flow control device on the second bund will release a controlled flow of surface run-off into the culvert inlet of the watercourse.
The contractor will need to construct a temporary haul/access road to the west of the development area, linking the site with Barrack Road so that materials and construction vehicles can access the site. The temporary haul/access road will cross land which forms part of the local primary school field which is managed as a wild area, and must be reinstated to its original condition once the construction works have been completed. Temporary security fencing will also necessary to ensure that the temporary haul road remains secure especially given the nearby primary school.
Area 2
Area 2 comprises a single earthwork bund with a water storage volume of approximately 9800m3 on grazing land to the east of Burns Lane. A flow control device will release a controlled flow into the watercourse downstream of the bund.
The contractor will need to construct a temporary haul/access road from Ayleston Park to the development area so that materials and construction vehicles can access the site. This must be reinstated to its original condition once the construction works have been completed. Temporary security and stock-proof fencing will also be needed to ensure that the site and temporary haul/access road remain secure.
