description
Plymouth City Council are leading the development of the UK's first National Marine Park (www.plymouthsoundnationalmarinepark.com) and the formation of Plymouth's Freeport status. A key aspect to the development of these projects is decarbonisation of Plymouth waterfront, Plymouth Sound and associated maritime operations.
The Council has received funding from the Community Renewal Fund to undertake a range of scoping and feasibility studies related to the decarbonisation of the waterfront area. Utilising this funding the Council has identified a need to develop a plan for low carbon marine passenger transport (public ferries, micro mobility) within the proposed national marine park (NMP).
